Hands for Hospice Raises $30,000 for Adoray Hospice

Date: Jul, 23 2021

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, eighteen teams and 72 golfers supported the annual fundraiser to benefit hospice patients and their families in Western Wisconsin.

The tee-rrific weather and beautiful Whitetail Golf Course offered golfers a great day at the tournament.

The winning teams of this year's tournament included Ted’s Pizza for men’s teams and WMG-Waznik Moseler Group for mixed teams.

Hands for Hospice member and Dairy State Bank President, Clark Yolitz said, "We celebrated our 3rd anniversary of having the Hands for Hospice Golf Outing. This year the Hands for Hospice group raised $30,000. That number would not be possible without the generosity of our community. It's the families that have benefited from the care of hospice, the corporate sponsors and the golf participants that give so generously. We would like to especially thank the Hands for Hospice group members for his longtime commitment to hospice for the community and this event. We look forward to seeing everyone back at next year's event!"

Special recognition was given to all the sponsors: Corporate Sponsors: WMG Waznik Moseler Group, LLC, Quality Tax Accounting, Dairy State Bank, Walmart and Cardinal Glass. Hospice Hero with Hugs Sponsors: Dairy State Bank, Cardinal Glass, Kado Insurance, Menomonie Golf and Country Club, Ted’s Pizza and North Town Ford. Hospice Hero Sponsors: Spectrum Insurance Group and Indianhead Enterprises. Putting Green Sponsors: Peoples State Bank and Comfort Keepers of Hudson. Tee Sponsors: Culvers, Colfax Chevrolet, Bakke Norman Law Office, Heike Wealth Management, Sunderland Group, Rhiel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Burstad Insurance Agency, Whitetail Golf Course, Keyes Chevrolet, and Johnson Motors. Other Sponsorships included: Timber Technologies, Security Financial, Edward Jones, Slinden Team and Adoray.

Burstad Insurance Agency supported the event by putting up $20,000, which would have been the prize for a "Hole in One" on hole #2 with $10,000 going to the golfer and $10,000 to the overall funds raised for the event.

Proceeds from the Hands for Hospice Golf Tournament help provide expert end-of-life care and services for hospice patients and their families. The recipient of this years raised funds was Adoray Home Health & Hospice. Adoray is a local not-for-profit hospice agency that has provided quality end-of-life care to five Counties (Dunn, St. Croix, Pierce, Polk, and Barron) in Western Wisconsin for 26 years. Annually Adoray’s hospice program provides over $200,000 in uncompensated professional medical care, support services and bereavement care for our patients and their families in their service area. Funds to pay for the cost of this care are provided through memorials, donations and fundraising events like the Hands for Hospice Golf Tournament and we are so grateful to all those who have supported us over the past three years of this tournament.

In 2020, Adoray Home Health & Hospice received a grant from the Hands for Hospice Fund of The Community Foundation of Dunn County to purchase ipads to keep patients and families connected during covid shutdown and facility visitor restrictions.
